Penzance

What a difference 24hrs makes, last night 50 knots, this evening 05.  TC did OK, her shore lines were stretched to max and she shuddered continually with the constant gusts ~ not much sleep for us but no damage done to her.

We have remained in Penzance Harbour as they will open the lock gates between 0400 and 0600 tomorrow for fishing boats to leave and return, plus there will be an exodus of yachts heading for the Isles of Scilly, including us. The forecast is now for calm and we are excited about this next stage.

The Isles of Scilly ferry “Scillonian III” spent last night in St Mary’s as she was unable to return to Penzance due to the wind, that hasn’t happened for over five years, it was an impressive blow for sure.

We have just caught the lines of a floating vet heading south to work with animal charities in The Med, then further afield, a most impressive life plan. Actually we are surrounded by interesting people, all very friendly and welcoming.

Had a nice chat with the Harbour Master who has secured £4Million to spend on refurbishing the harbour, it will be very different at the end of next year.

Early night ahead of an early start.
