11/09, Fai Tira still in Muros
42:46.56N 9:03.42W We got up this morning and went to Saniago de Compostela. The history behind this place of pilgrimage is that a nun called Stela died there and they used her for compost. Hence the name Compostela. He He
We travelled there by
local bus which took two hours and gave us great views of the Ria we are located
at. It only cost 6.35 euro’s a
bargain. We arrived in Saniago de Compostela to find out it is the weekend of
the culmination of the great pilgrimage’s to this fantastic cathedral city.
Anyone interested in going doing a
pilgrimage should go to: http://www.caminodesantiago.me.uk/ We had a good look around
the place and were astonished by the amount of knacked pilgrims there were
entering the city. Some had walked
all the way from the Pyrenees. I wont go on any more about the place other than if you get the chance the place is well worth a visit preferably over a few days. .
Have a look at the photos.
Bye for now. Pete and
John. |
