After some days of necessities in Carloforte we headed north along the westcoast of Sardinia for solitude and freedom.
With prewailing winds from the west, this side of Sardinia is much more exposed and subsequently well protected bays are scarce.
Three hours north of Carloforte we dropped anchor in Cala Domestica. This is a beautiful bay only open to NW and with a highpressure around us with only light winds forecast we considered this to be a safe anchorage the coming days.
You anchor in 4m sand with very good holding and at the bottom of the bay is a beach (as usual with a bar) with mainly domestic visitors especilly in the weekend.
The only downside of this beautiful bay (also with several caves reached by dinghy or paddleboard) is the amount of flies that florish in calm winds. Internet cover is none which was appreciated from our point of view, but that also means weather forecasts must be downloaded prior to making landfall.
There´s a nice walk to the old Spanish watch tower on the top of the peninsula
