Well..... I guess not many people can say they have seen the new year in over 1000 miles from land being piped in with Vlaamse Doedelzak (Flemish Bagpipes) and playing Uvas ( if you don't know what that is ask Google) we also accompanied Stan's Ald Langs in three languages (or would have been three if I remembered the words). Eat your heart out Jules Holland!
To ensure full participation in our celebrations, Augustnot was brought out of retirement....(we hadn't used him since the instruments were switched off) He clearly enjoyed contributing to up party and behaved immaculately. BTW Ed we haven't needed the generator for the last 10 days.... Without instruments and autopilot, the solar panels keep the fridge going and we can run the water maker for a couple of hours a day.
Tim had very kindly driven down to Falmouth when Andy jumped ship with a bottle of whisky with instructions to drink at some apposite moment.....whilst one of my rules is to keep a dry ship, all decent rules should have exceptions. Thanks Tim!
Apparently the new year merits clean underwear.....the washing pile is now using up more space than the kit of two crew.
