Nai Yang to Ban Thap Lamu 33nm

just about all the way under sail today. wind started NE veered to the E blowing 8-20 kts, then died and came up from the west at 5 – 12 kts.

 

Ban thap Lamu is bigger than it looks on the chart. entrance is relatively easy between the channel buoys. depths never got below 7m despite the chart showing a bar of less than 5m and we entered more than half way down a strong spring ebb tide. loads of fishing and dive boats inside, loads of room to anchor. oh and a Royal Thai Navy port too.

must beware of the trip boats that race in at full speed after 4.30pm. it would not be pretty in our dinghy.
