13 Dec: moved to W side of bay and took a mooring (150
baht/day run by Brent at the 'PCYC')
17 Dec: Don of sy Northern shadow joined us on board
while en route from Australia to Sicily for a bit of respite.
19 Dec: part sailed, part motored to Nai Harn on SW
corner of Phuket island. Lovely white sandy beach to the east end with numerous
restaurants and some shopping behind the beach. We liked the little restaurant
at Ao Sane on the north side the best. dinghy landing a little tricky in any
on-shore swell, but worth it.
22 Dec: Don moved ashore to the beach bungalows at Ao
Sane as John and Vanessa had already 'booked' the forepeak!
23 Dec unfortunately had to move to the south side as
swell affecting the north side. Windy now too.
24 Dec: unable to get ashore in the evening for the
Christmas Eve party at Ai Sane as too windy and too rough for 4 in our little
dinghy. pity, as Don said it was really good
25 Dec: Bacon sarnies and fizz for breakfast, a late
lunch ashore at Ao Sane joined by Francesca and Marco as well as Don and John
and Vanessa. Terry raved about the Blue Crab Curry.
26 Dec. still very windy (25-30kts) forecast keeps
promising it will calm down but the winds seem to be sucked in by Tropical Storm
Thane in the Bay of Bengal. looking at forecast for New Years Eve - it's really
shit. had hoped to go to Patong, but that looks out.
27 Dec. forecast for NYE improved, maybe we'll
stay.
28 Dec. forecast bad again. ...head to Boat
