Now is a good time to remind all of you that May 21st is my (Peter's)  birthday.  However, I should point out that the following article appeared in todayâs The Australian newspaper:

âMAKE NO PLANS FOR MAY 21stâ
âThe world is not yet done for but the journeyâs end is nigh for 14 Americans who visited Sydney this week. Today, it is written (on their plane tickets) that they will head home after spending seven days warning anyone who would listen that Judgment Day has been locked in for May 21.  (That is a Saturday if youâre wondering - which is nice.  Weekdays are hectic enough as it is!)
Keith Harwood, a 57 year-old home improvement contractor from Freeport, New York, was among those who put all else on hold in order to help spread the word outside Town Hall in downtown Sydney.  âWeâre trying to hit as many places as we can.â  Others will head to Jamaica and Bermuda to do the same but, under the circumstances, he has no long-term plans. The group he is affiliated with believes that May 21 falls exactly 7000 years after the flood and is revealed (after some math and careful reading) as the date of a worldwide earthquake that will finish most of us off. âIt is not a far-fetched interpretation,â he said, given recent natural catastrophes.
Harwood is definitely not prepared to even consider the possibility that we might all still be here on May 22.â

Wellâall I have to say is that, on May 21st the signal flags will be flying on the good ship, Peregrina, as we celebrate my birthday. We are planning a really big party and would like to invite you all. If you canât join us in person, we urge you to celebrate my birthday wherever you are.

We may even start a day early just in case Mr. Harwood DOES have some inside information!
