From landing on the Marquesas Islands over a month ago, then making our way
to the Toamotu Islands and on to Tahiti and her Islands (Society Islands),
French Polynesia has been un unforgettable experience.
Our final stop was Bora Bora with its well known peak mountain right in the
centre of its land. They say it is the most beautiful island in the world.
It was our last opportunity to stock up on fresh food before the long
passage to Tonga, and get together with some of the other Oyster boats in
the fleet for some socialising and a final big party as a farewell to French
Polynesia.
We did rent a car to have a look at the island. It took us less than two
hours to drive very slowly around the 20 mile radius, stopping at a Black
Pearl farm to see how they cultivate these beautiful pearls that our world
renowned.
