Everyone has heard of Tahiti. In fact it has almost become synonymous with
the South Pacific. It is just one island, part of French Polynesia that
include the whole of the Society Islands. After replenishing our provisions
we made the short 4 hour sail to Moorea and anchored in Cook's Bay. Captain
Cook discovered the island group and on a later voyage anchored here for 7
weeks. We passed through the gap in the surrounding reef, well marked and
less stressful than some in the Tuomotus where swirling currents and shallow
water makes an entry 'an event', and again dropped anchor in 20 meters of
turquoise water surrounded by towering volcanic peaks. We now have a working
'Yellow Brick' tracking device again, or at least I hope it's now working,
so you should be able to see our current location from the Yellow Brick web
site
