We arrived (Johnny, Nic, Freya, Torie and I) in Falmouth yesterday afternoon. While the girls sort refuge in a local hostelry, Johnny, Freya and I blew up our little dinghy to motor the 800m to where Merlin was moored to a buoy near the mouth of the river.

We got soaked ! Motoring straight in to the wind and waves.... The tired batteries just managed to start Merlin's engine and within twenty minute we were safely moored in Pendennis Marina, with the batteries on charge.

A most acceptable evening in the Chain Locker pub recharged our batteries but the night cap (or three) of Amaretto was definitely a mistake !

It rained most of the night and the wind dropped. Our 20nm sail to Fowey today looks as though it will be under motor rather than sail.
