The good wind after the start soon dropped and we
were left with a relatively light wind from behind - very dificult to get the
boat moving at any speed.
We decided to use some of our available deisel fuel
to power the iron genoa - motor sailing for a period to try and make ground
south to where the trade winds are meant to rebuild.
This part of the route is being heavily influenced
by the huge storms raging thousands of miles north of us and affecting UK.
Result for Juniper is that the wind has reduced - caused by a high pressure area
moving south from the Azores. Until this moves back where it belongs the normal
Trade winds are taking the week off.
Still, it is sunny and the water temperature is 24
so night watches are not unpleasant!
Tonight we sample "Dining by
Wiggy!"
