What a roller coaster 12 days. Arrived in Rabat safely from Gibraltar for an interesting 2 day break that turned into 12.

First of all the wind turned to blow from the SW ( where we were going next) then a 3m swell built - so high that people were surfing in the entrance to the harbour!

Change of plan saw us day trip by train to Casablanca and enjoy the Medinas of Rabat and Sale. Fascinating culture - so much an Arab but also more hints of the old French influences.

People we met were extremely welcoming and eager to help in what ever way.

The arrival process was interesting - never complain about a short line at airports. We were visited on board by Police, Customs, Port Officials , Health and finally a sniffer dog. All very friendly but a different form, with the same information for all.

However, at around midnight one evening we had an aggressive intruder on board- not a great experience but no one hurt and the Marina posted our own guard after that.

Once the swell finally reduced we set off for a 3 day sail to Lanzarotte- sea was rough with 3m swell, making any attempt at sleeping quite tough. Hard but our three crew worked well together.

Now safely in Rubicon Marina to finish the boat servicing before the Atlantic crossing…
