We sailed north today from Green Island to Barbuda
- a distance of 30 miles with an easterly wind giving us a 7.5kts reach all the
way. Barbuda is an island paired with Antigua but hugely different in geology
and population.
Barbuda is a sparsely populated coral island, very
low-lying with very limited development. We are currently in a beautiful bay
north of Cocoa Pt with only 4 other boats for company and miles of pristine
sandy beaches. We all swam to the shore from the boat - a distance of only about
100 meteres.
The plan in the morning is to move around the coast
to Low Bay where there is 11 miles of un-inhabited sandy beach to
enjoy!
All well albeit our new arrrivals are struggling
with the strength of the sun...
