Sitting here in Villamoura without a care in the
world! Have had a quiet day although the oldest crew member to be on board to
date [Keith] managed the quickest mainsail drop to date 2.6 seconds! caught us
all unawares including himself but didn't do any long term damage. Beat
that Arc boys!
We had a peaceful night doing 3 hour watches in
pairs. Sally and I did much chatting on the first shift 9pm-midnight whilst
watching the shooting stars, satellites and passing cargo shifts in the
distance. Our second shift 3-6am was a much more silent affair with us each
taking 30 minutes at a time for a snooze. Little activity on the radar
or the horizon so a very quiet night all around. Both sally and I were very
relieved to have had such an uneventful night but found it slightly alarming to
find an abandoned very large rib soon after dawn thank goodness
we did not have to deal with that in the night.
Motored all day, boo hooh, but enjoyed the company
of dolphins and porpoises for some of the journey.
Juniper all tidied up and put to bed now ready
for the next team of 2-3 boys and skipper john to sail her safely to Gran
Canaria. Hope you have as good a time as my dad and I have done.
