Had the morning in Marin - rather bizarre place
being part of France. Language is obvious but they use Euros and yes, the EU
pays for development programmes here as well! Very different feel to the shops
with a very French flavour with even the supermarkets being heavily stocked with
produce du France. Very well organised and a general air of being much better
off financially than St Lucia or St Vincent.
Amazing anchorage with lots of yachts just left by
their owners as they return to Europe, demonstrating how safe the place is.
Anchored near a mangrove swamp in 4 meters of water. Very pretty but the bugs
are the size of B52's.
One or two domestic fixing jobs to do. The water
pipe blew off again. Weird - 3000 miles since the last time for no apparent
reason. In addition the generator over-heated and shut down. Poor water flow
after an impellor change I think. Bit of tweaking, bleeding and sweating and we
are back with power.
Will be spending a few more days here before moving
north to Dominica.
