Went to Reggae night at Big Papa's last night which
was very amuzing and then an early start to be taken up the Indian River after
dawn. Basically a brackish mangrove with superb wildbirds and tropical plants as
far as the eye can see! One area of the swamp was used to make the set of
Pirates of the carib 3 when they all went to Calypso's den. No sign now as they
had to remove all trace. Our guide was called James Bond and he was both
knowledgeable and hilarious. see phot with his gift to the ladies - a bit
touristy considering we were the only people there!!.
Left Dominica after the river trip for a 3 hour
sail North to the outlying islands of Guadalope. Fairly rough sea and 22 kts
made it a rough ride with wind angle of 45-60 degrees apparent. Arrived to a
very busy anchorage in Les Saintes in which it is still blowing and the boat is
rolling all over the place.
Tommorrow we head north to the main centre of
Guadalope with the plan to meet Sarah and James on saturday. This time we are on
schedule!!
