Next door to Pangkor Marina Island is Pangkor island where we had a most wonderful, multi-course Chinese meal.  Chinese food here is nothing like we have experienced in the UK. The trip included a visit to the local temple.

a fetching pair of hornbills                                            and a guardian of the temple.

We also visited a boatyard where they were building sizeable wooden fishing boats on the beach.

For scale note there is a man in a yellow T shirt caulking beneath the hull.

This new litter was hiding amongst the timbers.

The island is developing as a tourist resort but retains much of its charm, partly because it is an island and has little of the traffic of the mainland.
