 Hiva Oa was delightful. The small Taahuku bay which 
required fore and aft anchoring to stop boats swinging about. 
![]() With the beautiful little town of Atuona 
![]() in an amphitheatre surrounded by mountains. 
![]() In the centre of the town was the excellent Guaguin museum 
with his House of Joy 
![]() and many excellent painted copies of his 
works. 
![]() Of course a lot of boats spent a lot of time repairing 
damage done during the crossing. This was Shayele, the boat that lost its 
forestay, but there are always plenty of yachties around to lend a hand and a 
word of advice
