Hiva Oa was delightful. The small Taahuku bay which required fore and aft anchoring to stop boats swinging about.
 
With the beautiful little town of Atuona
 
in an amphitheatre surrounded by mountains.
 
In the centre of the town was the excellent Guaguin museum with his House of Joy
 
and many excellent painted copies of his works.
 
Of course a lot of boats spent a lot of time repairing damage done during the crossing. This was Shayele, the boat that lost its forestay, but there are always plenty of yachties around to lend a hand and a word of advice
