Sailing is supposed to be relaxing. Try an open water crossing of 430 miles from Puerto Rico to Grenada if you think that. I know forecasts are always wrong but ours said SE for a day followed by lots of nice cuddly NNE. We need the later to make to windward to reach Grenada and to avoid being swept away by the cross current. So where were they, for two days we have waited getting no where to windward and being headed by the current when we tack.  All sorts of ideas went through our heads. Firstly, lets get a forecast so we did over the sat phone, that showed the cuddly NNE winds, so where were they, our forecast was from midnight ahead so maybe they hadn’t started yet. To kill time and explore other options we ran the engine but with the nearest land 185 miles away making a landfall under engine was not on. We could only improve our position for when the promised winds appeared. After on hour of aimless motoring we decided  to see what had happened, Magic, NNE winds had arrived. We are OK at the mo, but don’t tell anyone.

We have 272 miles to run to Grenada. So at about 3 knots we will be around for a bit longer.
