We made one abortive attempt to leave our anchorage last night but conditions at the mouth of the Ria were not very nice so scuttled back to the anchorage.

The next day 26 Sept started fine with a F3 westerly. We set off at 08 00 and made reasonable progress South. Its now about 13 00 and the wind has dropped to next to nothing. Slow progress for the moment with a promise of better from the North later today. Slow progress is better than no progress and the sun is shining, that's much better than the high wind and rain of the last few days.

Winding reducing and not look likely to develop into the expected northerlies for the time being so we pull into Figueira da Foz.
