29 March - Well we have made it to Antigua, Pat no longer has to worry that she will miss her flight on Saturday. The sail across from Guadeloupe was a straightforward fetch in F3 winds and calm seas.

Sailing under the Pillars of Hercules at the entrance to English Harbour brought back memories of seven years ago when Tim and I rowed past these after our crossing of the Atlantic from La Gomera. Then I I vowed to repeat the process under sail and in comparative luxury. Well I’ve done it, we have done it. Best of luck to you in your rowing attempt later this year Peder you will never regret the experience.

We are anchored well into the harbour it what is called Tank Bay, opposite the Lord Nelson Hotel and Restaurant. We can see Shirley Heights in the distance and we are surrounded by luxury yachts, the Sunsail Charter Base where Simon worked is a short distance away.

I guess we will be here on the hook for a few days.
