The Travels of Running Tide

Things are a little calmer today. The first night was good sailing but quite lumpy with winds gust to 6/7, after the blow we found a lot of water in the bilge. Surprising as RT is usually quite dry in the bilge department. Its all pumped out now and watching to see whether it returns. If not we can conclude that the high energy water passing by and sometimes over the port hand gunwale was somehow finding it way into RT.

Weather not cold 50% cloud but very little rain so far. We have managed to obtain a three day grib file forecast which is favourable and have decided to press on across Biscay to La Coruna rather than pull into Brest which was a possibility if the weather was against us.

We stocked up with masses of food which we are slowly pecked at. No one was too up for the sheperds pie we had Monday evening.
