Grenada

The Travels of Running Tide

We are still in Grenada. Our first night was spent at the very swish but expensive Port Louis Marina Complex. We met up with Pat, Sally, Peder’s Mom Marie and Auntie Mona Lisa and headed off to True Blue Bay on the South Coast. It was a bit crowded on board but it was an easy sail around to the bay where we anchored up for  a lunch ashore. Norm and I were so taken by the place that we spent the next two nights there.

Peder and family has headed off back to Sweden, Peder to earn a living.

We have had a trip around the island seen the sites and sights and have now settled into the colonial and quirky surroundings of the Grenada Yacht Club which is opposite the Port Louis Marina and half the price. At the moment I’m sat with Norm on the club house verandah waiting for the tumbler dryer to do it stuff on our laundry. Its a beautiful day, St George’s is living up to its reputation as one of the nicest capitals in the Caribbean.

We have done our jobs on RT and will be heading off into the town to have a look around this afternoon. Yesterday we sorted the shower pump and fitted a new heads, this morning it was up the mast to replace a flag halyard. Bluewater sailing means that you do the most mundane of job in the most spectacular surroundings.

The plan at the moment is to head off north tomorrow possibly to Tyrell’s Bay on Carriacou. This is still part of Grenada so we can skip the customs departure stuff here. Will need to do some shopping before we head off as things on board are a bit depleted in the food department unless you like onions, potatoes or Look What I Found ready meals.

The computer problems are sorted for the moment. I’m afraid my old computer has given for the last time and I got this brand new job now. Not before time.

Weather hot with a stiff breeze surrounding beautiful. Nice place , nice people, easy to get around on the little mini buses that
run along the coast every few minutes. Great if you like reggae played at full volume but fun.

Remember Norm leaping off the RT with gay abandon
