Just three days to departure 16th July 2008 Date: 16 Jul 2008 19:38:20 +0100 16:07:08 Position 50:47.459N 000:13.603E Hi
to all the Libertad blog watchers, We are still finding a few last jobs that need to be completed. On Saturday evening
of last week Bob and Lynne organised a farewell party for friends and crew. The rum punches and Pimms went down well but
seemed to get stronger as the evening progressed !My thanks the them both for a great evening and some fantastic
food(still looking for a cook on Libertad ,Lynne) Bob passed the hat around for Macmillan Cancer Support and raised a
substantial sum, I did the same at the Eastbourne Lifeboat crew meeting on Sunday and raise over &70:00.My thanks to all
those who so generously gave. The crew are arriving Martin Ward has come all the way from Auckland New Zealand for the
first leg and Jake Howell has returned from a family holiday in Florida to be on-board for Saturday the 19th July.
Stores and supplies have been arriving all week ,engine and generator spares from Tate and Crew Marine,Sail repair kit
and a hammock from Walrus Fabrications (thank you Simon) and medical supplies from our very own Lifeboat doctor Dr
Stephen Lytton and our Paramedic/Lifeboat Mechanic Guy Emery. Many thanks I hope we will not be using any of it . The
weather at this stage seems set fair for the weekend so fingers crossed we will get away Sunday morning on the 11:00 am
lock. I will try to get the crew to add to the blog as often as possible to ensure a balanced and interesting diary. I
would anticipate the next entry will be on Monday the 21st July. Best wishes Paul
