Hi all,

I have to start my second blog with an amendment to the first one, when I said over and out at the end, I didn’t mean it as I have recently discovered it is a faux par in the sailing world (cheers bob.)

Since arriving in Falmouth on Thursday we have been busy with odd jobs on the boat and getting ready for the passage across Biscay. The scenery in the area is really nice and we have explored it as much as possible, Paul and I went for a walk to Mylor which was a three mile round trip along the river after a ferry crossing to the little town called flushing. We were rewarded with some quality Cornish ice cream at the end which was well worth the trip. I have been exploring the delights of Falmouth as well which include many quays, many pubs and many boats, that’s about it. As you might be able to tell I am all falmouthed out!!!

Yesterday we had another slight set back when martin was admitted to hospital with chest pains and high blood pressure so he has regretfully had to pull out and head back to reading today to meet up with Wendy.

So then there were two... but Paul and I are still very much up for continuing on, we have some interesting weather to contend with over the next few days but hopefully we can pop across the channel tomorrow and then follow the bay around depending on how we feel and how the weather is.

We had a rental car today so that Paul could drop Martin off at the station, so we decided to make full use of it and headed down the coast to Penzance, on the way back we stopped off in a little town called Porthleven complete with its own ancient harbour, for a few beers and a few games of pool of which in total Paul is leading 2-1 so I think something has to be done there, I am hoping the French and Spanish like pool so I can try to take the lead.

Hope you are all well, we will be writing blogs over the next few days, hopefully from another country.

Cheers

Jake
