Another good 24hrs run, more remarkable by the fact that we
hadn’t got much sail out at all and still managed to put in a mileage of 169 nms
in the last 24hrs noon to noon.
The sea are still the same shitty on the beam 3 meter one but
they aren’t too bad once you get used to wedging yourself in when you are taking
a break, but from a sailing point of view its nice and sunny blowing 16 to
29knts and we haven't seen that much rain yet a few drizzles but on the whole
dry and too hot......I’m guessing getting back into Auckland is going to be a
shock to the system!!
I haven’t had the weather to repair the genoa yet but as it happens the
sea isn’t being very accommodating for sitting on the foredeck trying to patch
up a sail! according to the grib files the weather is supposed to be dropping
off yesterday!! and the wind strengths we have been having are supposed to be
25% less than we actually here now. So if you don’t mind my scepticism I won’t
hold my breath. I’ll get another grib file today to see if there is any change
we have had quite a change in the barometer reading in the last 12 hours which
is indicating a high pressure system coming our way so we will wait and
see.
