Well we left Nelson about 0900 this morning and as
we can out of the harbour we pulled up the sails and were sliding along nicely
at between 6 & 8.5knts, very comfortable and we were all feeling pretty good
after the bacon and egg sarnie that Ian made.
After waitng for the weather to ease up for a
couple of days you wouldn't believe that we are now motoring up the west coast
as there is no wind!!
I can't believe it, it's just bloody typical, oh
well it just means the guys first night at sea will be a comfortable one and it
will make it easier to cook, mind you if this
lack of wind keeps up though we may have to send out for take out....lol, given
the latest metservice forecast we are now heading for New Plymouth, so we can
fill the diesel tanks to make it around Cape Reinga and back to Auckland before
the forecast low pressure comes in on Sunday and with a little help from the
wind tomorrow we should be well placed to do that.
But the sunset was very special today so I've
attached a photo....enjoy
Pimpernel seems a good sound yacht and I'm sure she
will serve him well once we get her back to Auckland.
Cheers
Mark & Team
