Day 1 Position Report 36:22.43S 174:53.28E - Delivery of Yacht Akatea to Melbourne from Auckland

The Position report is timed as at 1541 07/01/09. We had quite an interesting morning we had to persuad the Duty free shop to open early to sell us some cigerettes and then we had to kidnapp one of the staff to accompany us to the quanrantine berth from Westhaven. The staff member didn't seem too concerned and enjoyed himself.
As of now we are heading up the east coast of New Zealand and are motor sailing as there is very little wind at present, which is a trend we expect to see for another couple of days yet...but we live in hope.
So I'll post another report tomorrow with hopefully with a little bit more interesting news.
