Apologies to all about the use of “disaster” for the broken Kindle....must
try to keep a sense of perspective. Luckily WD has a small library of books,
I’ve just finished Stephen Covey, ‘First Things First’ and I’m currently
reading ‘Around the World in Eighty Days’ - thank you for your present Jean
Ramsey! it seems totally fitting and a real sanity saver to have something to
read, especially on the long night watches. There is something quite special and
tactile about settling down with a real book. However, Denis’ Paperwhite Kindle
is still the envy of half of the entire crew. Just as well it is dry weather, as
water and real books don’t work, where as the Kindle can go in a waterproof
pouch.
The light winds continue and we are making steady, all be it slow,
progress.
Crew and boat in fine fettle. Running out of fresh produce and being
creative with the sachets, packets and tins...got to have some interesting tit
bits during the day to keep the spirits up.
As we are approaching Cape Wessel in the next couple of days, I’ll be
getting the fishing rod out. Fingers crossed, not too much luck so far in that
direction.
