Land Ho!
Tomorrow morning we hope to finding our anchorage in Taiohae Bay, Nuku
Hiva, Marquesas, French Polynesia. This is the twenty second day of our passage,
it will have taken about the same time to cross the Pacific as it did the
Atlantic. To get to Australia is about the same distance again, but island
hopping most of the way, with passages of hundreds of miles rather than
thousands.
Shrouds
So far so good. Still holding with little deterioration over night. I was
asked what happens if they break, ultimately, the mast would come down. We have
tried to jury rig strengthening non-stretch lines to prevent this. Priority at
Nuku Hiva, find a way to replace the broken shrouds.
