Shower and baking
The wind has abated and is now about 20 knots, we had slipping along at 5+ knots. The swell has reduced and a little sorting out below decks is needed, clean linen etc. We all showered today, important that we don’t leave one unclean! More bread needed so I’m baking fresh rolls today. I have great recipe with an egg that puffs them up beautifully. “How domesticated they are” did I hear you say?

I quiet night, we kept two reefs in the main until the speed fell away too much, at 0400 David clambered on deck to shake out the reefs and get us moving again, while I helmed. No spray over the cockpit or rain so we were all able to read on watch.

A Culinary Triumph
Simon having found his sea legs,  has conjured up two excellent meals so far: pasta, chicken and bacon and then for tea a bacon sandwich. No excuses now for staying on deck.  David is promising corned beef hash for lunch today, not something I am over familiar with, but will wait to be pleasantly surprised – I hope!
