Missing Summer?
There are those who might justifiably claim that I’ve had nearly twelve months of summer whilst following the tropics around the world. But the reality is that on crossing the Equator I moved from Northern Hemisphere Spring to Southern Hemisphere Winter. I now find that I am fast approaching the shortest day! Where did summer go? Of course all those of you way North of Wandering Dream are about to enjoy what will prove to be a wonderful summer, it always seems that when I’m away the weather is great.

Date Line or Will We Get That Day Back?
Tonga, very wisely, has opted to be technically if not geographically, west of the dateline. This is in order to be on the same day as all their immediate neighbours, such as Fiji and New Zealand, with whom they have close relationships. On arrival from the east we will immediately skip a day – to bad if it is your birthday (my sister, Chris has her’s about arrival our date). Apparently it has nothing to do with wishing to celebrate New Year’s Day first.

Special Drinks
On relating the bog to David yesterday, he wishes it to be known that we will be celebrating halfway with Orangina. A drink it turns out, of which we are both rather partial.

Miles Travelled in the last 24hrs: 114 miles. Another day of light winds, it looks like we will be asking Simon to wait for us in Fiji as our progress is so slow.
