Oh No! Nearly My Worst Nightmare
We set off from St John early heading for Crown Bay Marina chandlery as we need a new water pump pressure switch. We arrived in the bay in good time at about 1100 we were looking for an anchorage, the marina was US $200 a night. On the chart was a new symbol to me, a Dolphin a disc shaped mark that the chart described as a mooring aid. We were exactly were it was on the chart, looking for it, when bang we hit a submerged rock. None were shown on the chart. Luckily we were only doing 3 knots. We quickly picked up a mooring, were shouted at that it was private, I donned mask and flippers to investigate the damage. It appears that it may only be superficial, just gel coat, but we must make sure there is nothing more. I called my insurance help line, who took details, wanted to know if we were safe or in danger of sinking. I explained we were not taking on water. They will call you tomorrow then and explain what to do.

Water Problems 3
We found another mooring in a French Town Marina, only US $30. Removed the water pump, only to find when we went ashore that the chandlery shut at 2pm. We will visit tomorrow. One of the fan belts stretched, we retightened and it stretched some more, I have two like that, they looked the oldest, so I thought I'd use them first, but it now needs replacing as it is too loose. So fitted the newest, that Peter and Sheryl brought out in August. Thank goodness I had those. Knot Bill has offered to find some more and get David to bring them out in March. Hopefully, we won't be delayed too long here with repairs.
