Day 36 - Passage to the Caribbean

DTD to Trinidad: 32 NM (76NM)
Probably the slowest day we've had on this passage, the wind just disappeared and we had quite a bit of current against us for most of the day. By late morning, Tobago came into view and very shortly after, we could just make the outlines of Trinidad... We had a fabulous sunset!
We had to slow down anyway, as we are not keen to arrive in the dark. Daylight is at 6am, so we've not push too hard. The GPS system is predicting our arrival at the customs dock anywhere between 5am and 11am!!! Our boat speed has just dropped to 3.3 knots.
We have about 25 miles following he northern coast of Trinidad, before we need to enter the channel that will lead us to Chaguaramas. And we'll have to use the engine then. So in the meantime we are just taking it slowly. We are about 4 miles away from the coast, so most of the traffic of big ship is further away from us. We shouldn't have to worry about them.
So we'll just bob along until daylight and get all the officialdom sorted first thing in the morning. They don't open before 8am so there is no rush.
Sponge Bob Square Pants is still doing a sterling job every 4 hours, and the amount is less than usual again!
No we are really watching the miles go down... we're nearly there!
