The wind is up and down and the constant swell makes everything
that much more difficult. Especially cooking. Bring out the tins!
Here it is business as usual. As per tradition, since we left, Mr X has been
anointed with eggs, washing liquid (still can't find from where... don't
want to look in the locker! and it is only a small leak), the required
amount of glass ramequins has been shattered (white glass, will bring
luck!), We both have stepped and smeared some poor fish in the cockpit last night,
(it took ages to get the smell out of both my foot and the grating at the
bottom of the cockpit)... The water maker is hiccupping, too much air in its
water and then the wind monitor threw its toys out of the pram. Its tail
would not stay down. Ian managed to rig something up with a bit of string
and a pulley, McGyver style, and it seem to be working. All we need is for
it to last another 2,500nm! No passage would be complete without any of this
stuff... it would be nice if we could be spared any more stuff though!
We have been able to keep the wings up for the last couple of days, much
more stable, doesn't rock as much. Manuela has even been able to sleep in the
forepeak. she loves it there. The rush of the water sound, just like being back
in the womb! We have had some nice nights too, with the moon and the stars
very bright, the setting of the red moon this morning was spectacular. Don't
think we will see one tomorrow. We have been surrounded with low clouds on the
horizon from all sides for a couple of days and they have finally caught up
with us this morning. we have had a bit of drizzly rain and practically no
sun. Just like in Brittany!
