at 0600 local we had an extra big wave which pooped us the companionway turned into a cascade and it took ages to ckear up the water in the cabin and restore order to the cockpit. lesson learnt washboards in earlier in future! it is a little quieter at present so we will leave them out to allow ventilation and aid the drying out. It was not that big i suppose but was thought provoking.
