well we sorted out the broken mainsheet car in New Caledonia and some other stuff after a boisterous passage NZ to New Caledonia and we are now 35-ish miles out of new Cal with a new problem of trying to find our sea legs again. The sea has been not big but just a bit chaotic with overlaying wave trains. this sapped both our energies, but unfortunately made Manuela unwell in several ways so we have slowed down a bit and will rest her overnight with me adopting some singlehanded tactics and see how she is tomorrow. basically she has found it difficult to eat and drink for several days and so she is trying to rehydrate to reduce some ill effects making her uncomfortable.
i have not been immune but have still managed to eat and drink so am just tired rather than in pain.
