we started yesterday in light conditions but have spent most of the evening and overnight in mid twenties knots apparent which considering we have been
bowling along at 6 to 7.5 knots over the ground and the wind has been from behind, makes it in my book a breezy night. However that is not the real
notable thing...we are getting near the equator, i expected it to get a bit sultry but it is quite cold on deck. I guess there is a current running up
the west side of South America dragging water up from the Antarctic. Manuela is already in fleeces, socks and is considering boots for her night watches.
Some wildlife but not the whale that Manuela wants to see....personally the thought of there being a whale in our vicinity scares the bee jeepers out of me!

the passage seems like a real elephant curry to be eaten one bite at a time, when you zoom out on the chart it certainly looks a long way to the Marquesas still we have plenty of food, i say you have not lived until you have been struck on the head by a couple of pineapples swinging in a net as you go about your daily business! Presumably as the voyage goes on and we eat more of it we will go faster with the weight reduction...good thing they do not have plimsoll lines on yachts!
