Day 20
North Atlantic Ocean
DTD : 1,796 NM (108NM)

Not quite worked out as expected yet, this trade wind sailing is supposed to be a little easier on the boat and on us... so far, it is still a little bit jumpy, waves crashing on deck and in the cockpit, wind going up and down, genoa in, genoa out, clouds and showers. It will get better as we go further north hopefully, when we can expect a more settled wind situation. Still we are making progress and in the right direction, so we won't complain so much.
The seaweed is still a massive issue, hanging out at the back shaking lines every 15mn is ok during the day, but not so good at night. The clumps are getting bigger and show no sign of diminishing... wondering where all this seaweed is landing? There is so much of it...
As for the ingress of water in the bilge, it seem to have gotten worse, 8 litres today. We have the little pump working now, Ian had so fix it first, so we can pump direct into one of our 5 litre bottle, that makes it easier to throw overboard. Trying to figure out where it is leaking from is not so simple so we have started the process of elimination. Poor Ian had to scrunch himself up in the back cabin, head in the engine compartment, squeezing sikaflex all over the seacocks. As you can imagine, in a jerking boat, not that straight forward... of course sikaflex ended up in many other places than intended... the cleaning up was entertaining... goo everywhere! We'll see tomorrow if this has improved things... fingers crossed!

Settling in for my evening watch, just wished it wasn't so boisterous!
