Saturday 3rd April

Unfortunately I think this is going to be a bit of a boring blog as not much has happened over the last 24 hours!

Possibly the biggest occurrence of the day is that the wind has moved round to the East changing our point of sail. We're now heading downwind with the main and two headsails out. The waves have died down for the moment and we're hoping that's how it stays. There isn't so much rolling around the place and it gives mine and Amy's bruises a chance to heal. We don't know how we get them but it must be from bashing into things. Paul doesn't appear to have any but then he has tough skin, we're delicate you see!

We'd been trying to call Blue Magic on the radio throughout the day as we do every day and we were surprised that they hadn't called us. Anyway by about 7.00 pm we thought it was strange that we hadn't heard from them so we called them on the Iridium phone. We then managed to talk on 8A, a high frequency channel on the SSB radio but we could only hear Mark very faintly. Mark had been trying to call us all day too and we couldn't understand why we couldn't hear them as we aren't that far away. Then Paul realised that someone, we don't know who, had flicked a switch which turned the main speaker off and enabled you to hear only through the handset. Problem solved!

Isn't it sad when things like that become the highlight of your day!

I'm afraid I think that is all the "interesting news" I have from today. We've had no more shark sightings although we know he's there somewhere lurking behind us.

We'll try and have an exciting day tomorrow so that we have something to talk about!
