With very little wind and a bright blue sky we had a very gentle sail to Upstart Bay passing Abbot Point coal loading jetty on the way. A bulk loading facility at Abbot Point is the outlet for the coal fields of Collinsville, 88 kilometers away.

We anchored at 4.30 pm at Upstart Bay off Cape Upstart National Park. Cape Upstart is a very rugged, rock-strewn headland under National Park protection and the only access is by boat. From the anchorage there are no tracks you have to walk up creek beds to get any distance inland. Beach walking is much easier but again you have to be wary of Death Adders. We decided it's much safer to stay on the boat.

A beautiful sunset looking out of Upstart bay.
