Sunday 21st March

Today the wake up call was at 06.00 and breakfast was served at 06.30! All in preparation for our last hike. We'd had to pack our bags and leave them on the deck before we went on the trip and then once the trip was over we were allowed to pick up our bags and we had to leave straight away as the new guests would be arriving. So in fact it wasn't really a 5 day trip as the last day was only a couple of hours.

Anyway, we were told to wear long trousers and raincoats - we had neither! Paul didn't come as it was his turn to be ill and he didn't really fancy heading into the middle of nowhere without a toilet. It was about a 45 minute drive in the pouring rain to the highlands. Once there we were kitted up in ponchos and wellington boots, very attractive! We did see a couple of tortoises, one much bigger than the other. Amy refused to believe that the larger one, who was sat in a mud bath, was real. That was until bubbles appeared in the water at the rear of the tortoise!

Jack managed to squeeze himself into an old tortoise shell that was at the end of the walk. He really struggled to lift it as it weighed so much. His face was bright red from the straining!

And that was it, the end of our 5 day cruise. All in all we had a fantastic experience and decided that it was definitely worth the money. The service provided was first class and we couldn't fault it, the guides were extremely experienced and knew exactly what they were talking about. We were looked after very well and we couldn't really complain about anything!
