Tuesday 1st December
Can't believe it's the 1st December! How time flies!
Anyway, on with the story! It was attack of the flying fish last night again.
Except this time their target was Paul Blower! He was stood at the helm on
watch, minding his own business, when suddenly a flying fish hit him........it
landed in his right hand trouser pocket! Thankfully he had a hole in the pocket
so the fish fell through and fell to the bottom of his trousers! We're starting
to think the fish are on suicide missions!
After roll call the tactical speed division had a meeting in the saloon as they
do every day. We picked off another one yesterday so it was time to eye up our
next target. We keep having to remind ourselves that it's not a race, but the
coloured pins representing each boat and their position that are stuck in the
chart on the saloon table would suggest otherwise! Afterwards it was time for
Paul's debriefing! (To do this story justice you really need to see the photos
that explain a lot.....to be uploaded in Antigua!)
The cruising chute has been up again today. This time as a cruising chute and
not a spinaker and it flew lovely!
We had a glorious day today! The seas were fine and the sun was
shining......what more could we ask for! We had fajitas for lunch with a bottle
of rose and van morrison playing in the background! We had almost been a dry
boat (apart from the odd beers that Paul and Paul snuck in after their
stressful sail mishaps) but as we're nearing Antigua we thought we'd treat
ourselves to a bit of vino! We're less than 600 miles away so we've also been
playing a bit of reggae to get us in the mood!
Unfortunately the wind has dropped off throughout the day so we've had to put
the engine on this evening. We expect it to pick up on Thursday, hopefully!
