After an uncomfortable sail with short lumpy seas we arrived at Agios Nikolaos Marina on Crete's east coast at 5pm on Sunday 19th June, 29 hours after leaving Marmaris.

We were due to end the rally here in April and so arrived with mixed emotions. Jack and his girlfriend Lola as well as Paul's parents and sister were all here to greet us though and the 'Welcome Home' banner flying from Amanda's hotel balcony put a smile on our faces!

After working hard in Marmaris to get the boat back in shape we were pleased to have a beautiful little town to relax in with the family. With lots of little cafe's and other great spots for people watching, local tavernas and boutique shops we are settling back into the Mediterranean life we left 2 years ago.

Life centres around the two harbours, the inner one is actually a lake, linked to the main harbour by a narrow channel. Lake Voulismeni is also known as the bottomless lake ( though it is apparently 67 metres deep ) and is an old volcanic crater.

Restaurants  line the tiny one way streets...fresh fruit on every corner

Also a church on every corner

We had a lovely week catching up with the family

What a colourful lot ... then there were three.
