We have wind! So, when we upped anchor in the morning we decided to sail the 40 miles to Koh Rok Nok and Koh Rok Nai, recently the site for the French version of the TV series 'Survivor'. When we arrived at the east coast of Rok Nok Blue Magic and Miss Tippy were on buoys next to a reef and Sol Maria were milling around. They informed us that the three remaining buoys were in 1.6, 2.2 and 1.7 metres of water. Considering we draw 2.2 metres we didn't fancy sitting on another reef for the evening. We attempted to anchor but it just wasn't possible in 30 plus metres of water so we moved further north to the proper anchorage in between the two islands. On our first attempt at anchoring the anchor dragged, our second attempt was successful and we were well and truly wedged in the coral, so much so that we though we might need to dive to free ourselves.

This is the first island where the water has been absolutely crystal clear, it's beautiful! Lisa (Sol Maria) had volunteered to cook the fish and lobster from last night so we were soon off out for our third night on the trot. The food was absolutely delicious and the night proved to be a lot of fun. It all ended very late and a few people woke up with very sore heads in the morning. Gavin used to import alcohol into New Zealand and subsequently he has some very nice and very expensive wine and liquor on board, the kind of stuff that is incredibly difficult to resist.

The wind picked up in the night and was blowing right through the anchorage making it uncomfortable on the boat. We ventured ashore for a nosey and immediately we all felt relaxed. It's been a long time since we have been somewhere so idyllic and able to walk on the beach. These last few weeks, particularly since leaving Singapore we have been constantly on the go, sailing from place to place each day and never having a minute to relax.
