The wind has been getting lighter and by lunch time we had to put the engine on as we need to reach Cape Don four and a half hours before high tide in Darwin. The shortest route to Darwin is via the Dundas Strait, across Van Dieman Gulf and then through the Clarence Strait, this requires sensible planning to be able to catch the first tide through the Dundas Strait then the second tide through the Clarence Strait.
