We stopped at Saint Eulalia 3 years ago en-route to Menorca and this morning we arrived from the other direction. We left at midday heading for Benalmadena, main land Spain, a 380 mile trip that we hoped to make in about 55 hours. The wind had returned and we were on a beam reach doing 8 knots but unfortunately by night fall the wind had gone as quickly as it had come and the sea was like a mill pond, the sky was also very misty so no stargazing activities took place. Would you believe that we were alone for over 16 hours, not seeing one ship and all of a sudden 5 cargo ships were heading in our direction. We also had fun later on in the night when it seemed like we were going to be playing dodgems with 2 more cargo ships.

As we got closer to land we found ourselves surrounded by fishing boats, we did have a line out but obviously weren't a threat to the fishermen, although little do they know we had caught a fish, it was fluorescent blue and green, much too beautiful to kill so it was thrown back to live another day.

We arrived at Benalmadena at 8pm, it's a strange place, almost like a disney inspired venice. We plan to stay here for a few days before moving onto Gibraltar.
