It was a shame to leave Huahine as we loved the island and would have loved to have moved down to the idyllic anchorage where Miss Tippy were on the south of the island but we are very concious of our schedule so we sailed 50 miles over to Bora Bora today. It was a beautiful sail, no one was ill, every one was happy, music was played and it couldn't have been much better. Although we did break the spinnaker pole! Paul normally has his eyes on the sails at all times but people have been telling him he needs to relax more so today for a change he was reading a magazine, I don't think he will ever read again whilst sailing now. Suddenly there was a large bang! It's a bit difficult to explain how it happened but anyway the end snapped off so we're now looking to get spare parts sent out to Tonga or Fiji. But other than that the sail was great!

Bora Bora looked lovely as we approached with its high mountains and palm fringed motu's marking the edge of the lagoon. We're yet again another step further, we've progressed from talking about the island for months and even years and we're not just looking at it from the next island, we're actually within the lagoon at Bora Bora!

We're on a mooring buoy at the Bora Bora Yacht Club and will make our way around the rest of the island over the next couple of days. We're not too sure what to expect though as the island is struggling from a lack of tourism and it is also trying to recover from a cyclone that hit the island in February of this year. The yacht club were hit the worst and they're having to rebuild a lot of it's buildings. It was damaged so much that they still aren't able to serve food in the restaurant!
