Thursday 8th April

Having sailed nearly 3,000 miles using God's fuel it has run out! The wind dropped and dropped and dropped throughout yesterday and eventually at 16.00 after trying every sail plan imaginable we had to put the engine on and it has been on ever since. We've only about 300 miles to go to the Marquesas, what a shame it didn't last! We have a very frustrated Skipper!

We only have two sleeps left now and then we're there, hurrah! It looks like it will be Miss Tippy, Blue Magic and us arriving Sunday morning at Nuka Hiva. A few of the boats are stopping at Fatu Hiva on the way some 126 miles further South but that would mean another night sail up to Nuka Hiva after only a night or two's rest and we just want to reach land and relax.

Blue Magic have caught up with us over the last 24 hours as we both now have our engines on. They are around a quarter of a mile behind at the moment and we'll soon be within waving distance of one another. It's very exciting!
